Business Hours

Most offices open from 9 – 5 pm, Monday to Friday except on and around public holidays when business hours may vary widely, many stores are open 12 hours a day, seven days a week.

Credit Cards / ATM

All types of credit cards can be used in the various shops in Phuket.
There are many ATM machines around the built up area especially Patong.
You will always find one that can be used for the many various credit / debit cards available.

Electricity

Electricity in Thailand is 220v ac HZ. Several different plugs and sockets are in use. A plug adaptor kit can be purchased in Phuket . There are occasional blackouts and power variations especially during rainy season, they do not usually last too long.

Photographic facilities

Film and Digital processing is available with one hour processing in popular tourist places. All brands and types of films are available in Thailand . Photo shops can transfer your Digital memory card on to a C.D if you wish. ( Approx Price 200 Baht Per disc )

Postal Services

The post office is open 8am – 4.30pm . Important items can be sent by Express Mail Service (EMS) or use private couriers like DHL or UPS and have representatives in Phuket.

Telephone services

Local calls are from red or blue telephone boxes.
International calls can be made from only blue boxes
For international direct dialing dial 001 + country code + area code + phone number

Time Zone

Thailand time zone is GMT + 7, seven hours ahead of GMT / London (6 hours after clocks turned back)
